Each table requires a label, code, owner, and filing indicator to be defined. The table code should be no longer than 31 characters to export the model to .xls format. The restriction is based on the maximum length limit for Excel sheet names.

The table code should also not contain characters such as / \? * [ or ]. In some cases it is better to avoid ( ) - and . as these may cause issues when exporting to .xbrl format.

Filing indicator - It is a technical construction used primarily in the XBRL taxonomy to indicate whether a table has or has not been reported. The filing indicator element, which contains a code associated with a particular reporting unit, is used to indicate the intention of a filer to report that reporting unit or to indicate the intention not to report that reporting unit. Filing indicators also trigger the appropriate taxonomy formula checks. Missing filing indicators may lead to inconsistencies because facts for non-indicated reporting units may not be validated.

For example, the filing indicator code may be true or false.

When a new table is created, a workspace appears where table components can be built.
