30/07/2024 - Improvements to business rules definition, visual fixes and enhancements in various interoperability options

In this release users will find important improvements to the business rules definition process, that aim to eliminate certain common errors.

Firstly – before saving a rule a check is performed to confirm that variables are properly defined in terms of indicating all headers. User will be informed in case a variable is missing coordinates for row, column or closed z-axis.

Secondly, when defining a Dictionary variable that identifies a metric or dimension the Modules tab will present applicability of the rule, as it is in case of table variable. If a metric or dimension is not present in a subset of information requirements defined by a given module, this module will not be presented as “related”.

We have also fixed several visual bugs, including the one that was greying out a cell on clicking Save in its edition modal, but also scrolling problems, handling of dropdowns, etc.

A few improvements were also made to the XBRL export process. In the DPM mode, the produced Taxonomy Packages contain now all necessary files and technical linkage that enables their direct use with XBRL processors (i.e. without any manual adjustments). We have also eliminated bugs where definition linkbase was enabling some unreportable cells, and improved handling of cover attribute on variables sharing scope. Printing of DPM XBRL taxonomy files has been also improved to increase comparability and readability. Several fixes were also applied to handling of the ITA taxonomies (configuration of export options, empty or duplicated entries in produced XBRL files and Excel translation, application of dimensions to hierarchies, extension of the export log).

In the meantime, we are working hard on upgrading the tech stack – we have already completed transition of interoperability options to .NET 8.0 and are currently updating our backend to Java 17 which will be followed by Angular front end and node.js upgrades. This is to ensure that Matter is state of the art, secure and on top of the performance.
