Amplified Business Rules

  • New Variable Types and Constants
Until now it was possible to define data quality checks only by selecting rows, columns, sheets or cells in tables and arrange resulting variables in test expressions. With this release users can define variables in checks as dictionary concepts, e.g., a specific metric, dimension or a data point regardless of its placement in tabular views. Such rules can be applied to all modules at once. This makes ATOME: Matter even more data centric and flexible than before.

  • Transparent Rule Relations
The user interface has been improved to provide users with better understanding on which frameworks the rules will belong and apply to. This has been achieved by providing a second navigation bar to select table-based variables and extending variable information with framework and framework version code thus enabling an easy way to design cross-framework rules.

  • Advanced Error Margins Calculation
Users are now able to flexibly indicate the method for calculating error margins using exact or interval arithmetic operators or by applying one of the available custom margin functions. This provides users with ability to flexibly specify the behaviour of validation engines rather than relying on some hard-coded logic.

  • Improved User Experience
Previously, filters narrowing down variables required users to type in the full expression, including manual resolving of concept codes and referring do ATOME: Matter documentation for the list of available options. This is now handled by the UI where users can indicate constants to be used in expression by selecting dictionary concept while the full list of functions and operator along the description and usage examples is available by clicking a help icon next to expression definition window.

  • Fallback Suggestions
To further ease definition of rules, the most common options for fallback values for variables are now accessible in a dropdown list. Users are still able to define more complex fallbacks by selecting option “Other”.

All models will be migrated and can be further edited using this new functionality. Users will be able to review their business rules and take advantage of the new features.
