09/04/2024 - Improved DPM XBRL export
With this publication we release the new XBRL export engine. Until know Matter has employed a third-party component to produce DPM XBRL taxonomies. This black box prevented flexibility and optimisation. With the new code, developed entirely by BR-AG engineers, we are able to control the processes from end to end. This offers a lot of possibilities, of which some we already use:
The time for generating taxonomies has been reduced (for some large models like Solvency II from more than two hours to a dozen of minutes),
Having full control over the process, we have started, and will continue improving logging of problems during export, with hints on how to fix them,
Serialisation to XBRL has been improved:
a taxonomy exported from a given model will always look the same (reducing the noise and enabling XBRL experts comparing taxonomy content in text editors),
taxonomy files shall contain only the necessary content (unused imports, declarations of namespace prefixes, etc are being removed reducing the size of the package).
User have also more and better control over the produced taxonomy technical content with the new settings (the list of options may increase in time to cover requested modifications that until now were not implementable in the process).
There are also minor changes to the ITA XBRL taxonomy import/export routines (the IFRS taxonomy template) where roleTypes are translated directly into Matter Tables’ names without any transformations.
Apart from the above, a few bugs discovered in the DPM database output were fixed.
Target date for the next release is 09.04.2024
