Roundtrip

One of the functionalities of ATOME: Matter is the ability to do a round-trip by using import and export functionalities. This is useful if you need to make manual changes to a file using other platforms.

As an example, this functionality can be used to edit business rules in Excel.

First export a framework version validation rules to Excel. Click the 3 dots next to the framework version, move your cursor to the Export and then select Excel with business rules - for re-import.

After exporting and opening the Excel file there is a list of business rules, in this case only one rule.

All information regarding the business rule is available in separate cells in the exported Excel. We can see label type, label information, and variable names. If there an error message is added, we will also see it here.

If we want to make any changes to a business rule, enter 1 in the column To be updated and then make changes in other columns keeping the rule ID. If you want to add a new business rule, we should add all necessary information and leave the rule ID field empty.

To delete a rule, enter 1 in the column To be deleted.

For example, to add a new business rule, enter the rule code (it is the same as the business rule label code in ATOME: Matter), leave the To be updated and To be deleted fields with the value 0, and prepare the expression.

The new business rule means that the sum of all the Total cells per type of transport (ships, boats, and cars) should be greater than 0.

Add the data from the other fields in Excel to the Label and Severity and modules columns. In this case, also use a short label in the English language and only change the text of the label. In all other fields either keep the 0 value or leave them empty.

Once you have finished working with the Excel document go back to ATOME: Matter. Click the 3 dots next to the Framework Version and select Import - EXCEL with business rules.

Select the Excel file with the changes from your computer. This task may take some time.

Once the task is complete refresh the page with business rules. At this point, the newly added business rule will appear in the list.
